Thursday night we went to the grand opening of the U of L Sport and Wellness Centre. There were tonnes of streamers, free popcorn, and entertainment. (Ironically, though, the balloons above our heads were never released. I guess someone forgot).

The school cheerleaders brought out a giant blue box with a yellow bow and revealed the new school mascot.

The Pronghorns new mascot.

This weekend turned out to be quite the Canadian Music review for us. Susan Aglukark performed (sorry, Dr. Susan Aglukark, U of L honorary degree 2004) and Ian Tyson.

Some of the clubs that use the Sport Centre gave a few demonstrations. My friend Nick Hanson directed the events, and had everything from dancers to rock climbers repelling from the ceiling struts. (The fencing team obviously was not choreographed - they kept backing into each other.) But the crowd favourites had to be the little ballerinas.
